Why should I use Microsoft Office Word?

Microsoft Office Word is a popular word-processing program used primarily for creating documents such as letters,  learning activities, tests, quizzes and students’ homework assignments. There are many simple but useful features available in Microsoft Word to make it easier for study and work.

Microsoft Word or MS-WORD (often called Word) is a graphical word processing program that users can type with. It is made by the computer company Microsoft. Its purpose is to allow users to type and save documents. Similar to other word processors, it has helpful tools to make documents.

Many organisations now use computers to produce and organise written material, correspondence, membership lists and so on, and MS-Word is the most common programme they use.

Uses for Microsoft Word include creating and editing documents such as letters, resumes or CVs, reports, legal documents, proposals, notices, flyers, bulletins, simple newsletters, and rudimentary web pages. A writer or editor can apply a variety of visual styles to text within a Word document, which can be set to correspond with equivalent style.

Word has a number of powerful editing features such as Find and Replace and Markup. Markup allows a contributor to insert notations into a document for review by another contributor.
